On Saturday 6 May the Lahr
Canadian Squaredance Club "Schwarzwald Tänzer"
held their
annual big special dance called
"Snoopy 2".
The name of the special dance comes
from the nickname Canadians gave
to the old wooden hangars built
by French on Lahr airfield in the 1950s. This is where the dance
was
originally supposed to have been held in 1970, but this year
it took place
at the Kaiserswaldhalle in Lahr-Kippenheimweiler and the date
was brought forward because its
usual date of the second weekend in
June falls on Whitsun/Pentacost
(all the religious festivals are late
this year). See square dance section for further details of Snoopy
2.
