Lahr is to become a city of traffic circles!! The roundabout at the crossroads of the B-3 and the road to airfield (Hirschplatz) has been so successful that another is already being construction at the next intersection in between (Flugplatzstrasse and the road to Langenwinkel). Another is planned for the intersection Schwarzwaldstraße / B3 in 2002 (photos). The first traffic circle has been operation for 9 months now: there have been no accidents; drivers, cyclists and pedestians are satisfied, so a further 9 traffic circles are being considered in the long term. Why wasn’t that done when the Canadian Forces were still here?!
