Lahr will again hold a city festival next year, according to a speech made by Lord Mayor Müller during the city council debate on the budget for the coming for the year 2001.

Both the town councils of Friesenheim and Offenburg have rejected the compromise concerning night flights from Lahr airfield that was suggested by the Lahr Airport Company.
There was a fire alarm at the Roth-Händle cigarette factory. One
of the machines used for manufacturing cigarette filters and containers caught fire but the flames didn’t spread and there was little damage (photo).
